Hope my friends and family had a great Christmas!
Bill and I were blessed to have a whole week with my mom here for the holiday.
We did a few fun things, but mostly just relaxed and enjoyed each other's company.
An evening at Bellingrath Gardens.
We went here last year and I wrote more about it in more detail here

I hope visits to Bellingrath are a yearly tradition for us!
We spent a few days down in Orange Beach at my in-law's beach house
and celebrated Christmas day with our Alabama Hart family.
My mom and I had a "night out" in Mobile with dinner and fun Christmas concert.
We're looking very pretty so a picture in front of the tree was a must before going out :)

If you're wondering what's up at the House of Hart, it's been kind of hit or miss
with work over the holidays. Little details like lighting plates and electrical outlets
are in the works. Faucets and lights are mostly in place (and some in the wrong places!).
There is still no sign of the front door - the wrong one was ordered, if you recall,
and it's replacement must be coming by mule cart.
The driveway, walkway and sidewalks are done! Yay for no more trudging through
thick, red dirt! I was having to keep an extra pair of shoes in the car for a while :)
The picture on the right was taken before a few days before the driveway.
The electricians had a dig a semi-deep path for the wiring. It's nice to have
all the power lines underground as opposed the way we were used to up North with
power lines criss-crossing to and fro through our yard!
Toilets, sinks, faucets and bathroom lights are all set.
But THIS...seriously...so many conversations over the past few months about fixing the plumbing
for the tub and now at the 11th hour, there's a ghastly mess in the master bathroom.
I know, I know, it'll be fixed but it just irks me!
The panelling and corbels are finished on the island. So pretty!
As of yesterday, the appliances (minus the fridge) are sitting in the breakfast nook
waiting to be installed. We've also got the subway tile backsplash coming soon.
The front yard was sodded today, but it's quite dreary so I didn't snap any photos.
If the weather cooperates I hope to have some pics of it soon.
Still no answer on a closing date and there is much to be done.
We'll definitely get in our house in 2014 and that right there makes me look forward
to what is ahead for Bill and me! I've learned a lot about patience this year and
I'll be taking those lessons into the New Year. It's gonna be a great one!
