As I mentioned in my last post, I picked out granite
& paint colors this week. I had to make 2 trips to the granite yard
since the first time I went it was raining and according to
the sales rep, the granite doesn't show its true coloring when wet. Huh?
I had picked this color granite many months ago and it probably
wouldn't have been a big deal, but I went back a few days later to select these slabs.
"New Caledonia" granite (quarried in Brazil according to Google).
The gray/brown/black combo should look nice with our white cabinets and
do a good job of not looking "dirty" all the time...which, let's be real, is quite practical.
Here is my poor girl's attempt at a color board.
We were allowed to choose five wall colors and one trim color.
The colors are all Sherwin Williams. From the top left:
~Extra White (SW 7006) for the trim
~Moderne White (SW 6168) for the Jack & Jill and guest bath
~Sedate Gray (SW 6169) for bedrooms (minus master) and master bath
~Destiny (SW 6274) for master bedroom
~Sea Salt (SW 6204) for main downstairs room and bonus room
~Naval (SW 6244) for dining room
The top right color is Elder White (SW 7014) for kitchen and master bath cabinets
I had 2 larger swatches of Sea Salt and Sedate Gray so those are just repeats.
Oh, and I chose Palladian Blue for the half bath. It's a Ben Moore color I'm fond of
and Sherwin Williams is color matching it. Overall, I was going for a neutral,
cool coastal colors palette and I hope I've achieved that look.
Choosing colors was a bit anxiety producing for me. There are gazillion pictures on
Houzz and Pinterest to browse and at one point, I just had to walk away and
make a decision. After all, it's just paint... I can always change it later if I don't love it!
The pups are here this week! Hooray! Bill and I took them over
to the house on Saturday afternoon to sniff and run all over the place.
These wagging tongues say it all....happy and excited to explore!
I had to share this video of the girls trying to get down the stairs.
Going up was no problem, but trying to navigate their way down
with the slightly separated boards was pretty comical. Enjoy!

Hey babe, love the pictures! Looking great! I tried to watch the video of the girls, but it said the video is private and wouldn't play :-(
ReplyDeleteMom, I switched the settings, so you should be able to watch it now. Thanks for letting me know!
