I have developed a "drive by" routine to check on the progress of our house.
On Wednesday nights after my yoga class and Sunday afternoons, I go over to see
what's been going on. As it's mid-July and the land was cleared shortly after Memorial Day,
I'm a bit frustrated that this is all I have to share with you....
but thankful that something is finally starting to happen!
We've been told there were some delays in obtaining permits for engineering work
and that's why nothing was done in June. That and the daily monsoon that descended
on our area for the past two weeks made it challenging to get things in motion.
(Please join me in praying that there are no hurricanes this season!)
The wooden stakes in the ground are sort of the barebones outline for the laying of the foundation. They "should" start on the foundation in the coming week. I'm going to be home in Chicago later this week so I really hope to see some concrete when I return on the 23rd.
The saying "a watched pot never boils" comes to mind when I think
of what I've been doing for the past 5-6 weeks. Maybe this time away
from the area will bring good progress for us!
Remember how I said this journey would be a huge test of my patience???
Yep! Glad I know myself enough to try to grow in this season of life :)
