Things are moving along at our house, but we've suffered
another set back --- and this one was kind of a doozy.
During my walk through with the electrician, I found out they've
installed the wrong heating system (argh!!!!). Most houses
in the South use electric heat as the standard, but being
Northerners, we wanted gas heat. It's much warmer and cost-effective.
Our supervising contractor hasn't been paying very close attention to detail
and so the HVAC folks came in and did what they're used to doing...
installed 2 electric heating systems. So, now they've got to come back
and re-do the downstairs heating unit so it's gas.
Not sure how long it'll take, but our new "official" closing date has been
set for December 18th. Oh, the joys of home building.
Just glad it was pointed out to me by the electrician and we can actually get it fixed!
Hey there, shiny duct work!
The walls and ceiling are full of electric wires now. It was nice
to see where they're all going, especially if we ever decide to bust
through the walls :)
They are several big piles of sheetrock sitting throughout the house
patiently waiting to be put up. And so is all of this....
The bricks, sand and mortar was delivered on Friday!
Once they fix the heating system and get the 1st round of housing inspection
passed, the sheetrock and bricks can get going. Hoping it's sooner than later ;).
Other mistakes are being corrected though! They pulled out the
platform in the master bath room and need to move those water lines still,
but it's coming along. 8 weeks and counting...
