On Friday September 6th, Bill and I celebrated our fifth
wedding anniversary. I can't believe it's been 5 years since we said "I do."
In some ways, it seems like it was just a short while ago that
we came together and celebrated the start of married life with friends
and family, but in others; yes, we've definitely have been
through 5 years!...We've always joked a bit that we can "subtract"
some time from our 2 years of commuting to Wisconsin for making
it not feel like it's been that long :)
I loved our wedding day, but I love being married so much more.
I love growing and experiencing new things with Bill.
We've been blessed with so much in our 1st 5 years and I can't
wait to see what the next 5, 10, 20 years bring us.
Perfect sun on our wedding day! The bottom right photo is from New Year's 2009
Bill's gift was this framed quote, which I really like and can't wait to hang in our new house.
The traditional fifth anniversary gift is wood - we're going to buy a table for our breakfast nook
once the house is complete!
We were able to go away for a few days to beautiful Seagrove Beach, Florida.
It's about 2 1/2 hrs from our home in Alabama on the 30A Highway,
which has a stretch of 4 towns that are much quieter than the typical touristy
beach communities of Florida (i.e.: no fast food or trinket shops!)
We enjoyed a beautiful sunset on the rooftop of 723 Whiskey Bravo
Our afternoons were spent basking in the sun! It was a perfect way to relax.
Seriously, the water is so pristine here. I would really like to make a habit of
visiting it as often as possible :)...anyone wanna join me???
"Selfies" at our anniversary dinner celebration at Cafe Thirty-A
Nice little touch from the pastry chef!
It's not a great picture of the dessert itself, which was called
Blueberry Spoon Cake - so dense (in a good way), it required
a spoon to eat...which we did...every last morsel and crumb.
It was a lovely few days together. Year five is going to be a big one for
us - moving into a new home, getting settled in our new community and
who knows what else. All I know for sure is that I'm so happy to
share it with my wonderful husband and best friend!
