The title of this post is the question most asked of me when I shared the news of our move. Believe me, it was a question I asked myself many times (and still do at moments)! After spending the past 2 years of our marriage commuting between Chicago and Milwaukee, it was time to work on putting down some roots. And for a variety of reasons, moving to Alabama was the right decision for our little family.
It's just my husband, Bill, myself and our sweet Silver Lab girls, Sierra (left) and Reyka (right), for now. We have relocated from the Chicago suburbs to Spanish Fort, Alabama. For those who are wondering where this is... it's about as far South as you can go! It is located on what the locals call "The Eastern Shore" of Mobile Bay. It's a lovely area and I hope I come to enjoy it and make it home.
For now, I feel a bit like a foreigner. As it stands, I have been referred to as "Yankee" several times. But I thought it may be fun to share my experiences to adjusting to Southern life, so if you like, please join me for my musings on this new phase of life!
