Call me "Capable Kati"

....or "Bad a$$ blind hanging" Kati as Bill has dubbed me. I took it upon myself to hang a few blinds by myself today.

I gathered my supplies and embarked upon my first solo home project. I didn't end up using the phillips head screwdriver or the level, just the power drill and the measuring tape.

My mission - cover this window! Full disclosure - it didn't start off great. It took me about
15 minutes to realize I needed a small drill bit to "pre drill" the holes for the screws...despite the
explicit line in the instruction book. #readALLthedirections :)

After a quick trip to Lowes, I got back to work and viola!!!!
I put up my first blind! I also managed to hit my head on that light at least three or
four times in the process. So, I may have a headache tomorrow, but at least I'll have
it with a sense of accomplishment.

Feeling confident about my first attempt, I moved things along and put blinds up in the
2 bedrooms downstairs as well. Honestly, once I got the hang of things, it was an easy install
project. I'm hardly a pro with the power drill, but I feel much more comfortable using it now.

I have faux wood blinds to tackle next - those are for the dining, office and breakfast nook
windows. They are a bit on the heavy side, so I'll probably need some help to get those done.
I'll let you know how it goes!

  1. Awesome job girl! I always try to fix things or do things around the house, but they always turn out just o.k….maybe not quite as precise or well done as when Mark would do them! If you look behind any picture frame on my walls you will probably find about 5 nail holes that I end up covering up until I get it hung just right! Ha!
